I was extremely excited when Appliances Online asked if I would like to take part in their Show Us Your Show Stopper Challenge and using a Kenwood Pattissier to help with the bake
I made these cookies using the pre-made carnationcaramel which worked perfectly. Press one batch into your baking tin using your hands before spreading over your caramel and placing the remaining dough over the top
Place the butter, sugar, eggs, self raising flour and cinnamon into a bowl and using either a mixer or an electric hand whisk mix all of the ingredients together until they are all evenly combined
Melt the chocolate and butter in the microwave, stir the chocolate into the butter so it all mixes together (it is better to under-heat the chocolate and stir out the lumps using the residual heat in the butter)
I added the hidden salted caramel filling, then topped them with a simple homemade salted caramel buttercream, which I flavoured by using lightly salted butter and adding some carnationcaramel to the mixture
Using roughly a third of the icing, spread a thin layer all over the top and side of the cake. Being a caramel cake, it would be desirable to tinge your icing a light brown
It's back to reality now and back to the task of using up some of my Bramley apples. This caramel bramley apple loaf cake was a real hit and super easy to make too - everything is mixed in one bowl
If you are using a baking tin, line the base and sides with baking paper. Rolo Caramel Fudge Recipe. If you are using a silicone pan, you don’t need to line it
Using a sieve, sift the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon and baking powder into the mixture. For the caramel, you can make your own if you're a caramel whizz, but to save time I used a tin of CarnationCaramel, which is available in all the big supermarkets (home baking aisle)
I hadn’t intended to blog this but Nigella’s no-churn salted caramel and bourbon ice cream got such a rapturous reception at my bbq last week my guests made me promise to post it
