It was a great choice as it didn't have that stewed beef taste (I'm personally not a fan) but instead left good chunks of meaty beef that broke away under the fork as we devoured this pie
Mix the sausagemeat with the sage andonion breadcrumb mix. Fold in the ends and then alternate strips of the pastry up and over the sausagemeat, crossing over each other neatly
Add in your sausagemeatand let it brown, stirring to break it up a bit more. I find the easiest way to do this is to twist it in the middle and then push the meat out towards each end
Or eat a very yummy, very messy, pastry slice andsausagemeat filling…. One of my little sister’s favourite meal is my Chicken & Chorizo Pie, and I have to admit it’s the perfect combination of spicy, flavourful and comforting
I could imagine it would go very well with whatever you want to add it to - sausages, chops, steak, braised beef, gammon - I can't think of anything that it would be out of place beside
Whatever you end up putting in it, you’ll end up with some beautiful colours on which to present your meat, and if you layer it sensibly, you’ll also end up with some tasty gravy/sauce at the bottom to keep everything moist and juicy
Add your Christmas dinner leftover meatand vegetables, plus the extra sausage if using. If not enough Christmas dinner leftover meat, cook the Italian sausage, bacon or pancetta, in a frying pan with a little onion, season as desired
