if you are vegetarian and you fancy adding the sausage, I have added a cooked Quorn sausage to this recipe, as well as a very meaty (low-fat) smoked sausage too
Add extra veg or swap the chicken for Quorn and you’ll have the perfect vegetarian friendly version. We’ve also got this Syn Free Cajun Dirty Rice which is great if you prefer beef mince and like a bit of a cajun kick
Add in a glass of red wine and let the alcohol cook offer for a minuter or two before adding in the stock, tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, tin of beans, lentils and quornmince
)When I got home I whipped up a quick dinner using some quornmince I bought yesterdayI mixed together some pepper, mushroom and quorn in a tom and mushroom sauce then threw in some spinach
If the weather was a constant 30 degrees throughout the summer months you'd know you'd be eating salads and barbecues every day but when those blustery rains and cold fronts blow you start thinking about stews when you know you shouldn't. 100g Quornmince - (I had some that needed using in the freezer but you don't have to include this). melt a generous amount of butter with a dash of olive oil in a large pan then throw in the onions and let them gently caramelise for roughly 10 mins and once they're soft and beginning to brown, turn up the heat, add the Quorn if using and the mushrooms, stir them around and let them sit until they start to make a noise, at which point stir them around, add some salt and plenty of pepper along with the fresh herbs and let them sit again until they start to release their juices. 100g Quornmince - (I had some that needed using in the freezer but you don't have to include this)
Meat free mince like Quornmince is often on offer and works out quite a bit cheaper than good quality mince so I often add a handful or two to mince dishes to make it go further
quornmince or lentils work really well and make a very satisfying bolognese. This does work best with vegetable based burgers but I’ve had success with tuna and pork mince by adding slightly more egg
it's National Vegetarian Week this week in the UK (although as The Viking says, it's NVW for him every week) so i'm using quornmince as a healthy alternative to meat
When I was sent some quorn to review, I did just that, cooking with quornmince to create a couple of low calorie bases that could be used for a variety of dishes
The spaghetti bolognese is really yummy with soya mince and short pieces of spaghetti combined. The food I am eating during the 5 normal days is what I would usually eat, meals such as vegetable stews, curries, Mexican dishes and Quorn based meals
