I took this recipe from MaryBerry's Baking Bible (such a good book. I decided to escape the madness this evening and while Ethan is asleep I decided to write a blog post and share a delicious LemonDrizzle traybake recipe with you all
Her lemondrizzle traybake is pretty hard to beat for quick and easy, and I've made it a number of times, and, for this weekend, I also made her rich chocolate tray bake with feathered icing
Recipe Junkie and the Attack of the Custard Creams
Mary’s famous LemonDrizzleCake is also included in the book too. I’m a keen baker so was instantly drawn to the delightful cake recipes in the tea time chapter
I need to thank HRH MaryBerry for this recipe – It is one of my favourites of her, a LemonDrizzleCake but obviously amended to turn into an Orange DrizzleCake
Finally, whilst I am a huge fan of butter, it has become quite expensive and Stork or similar works brilliantly here – if its good enough for MaryBerry, its certainly good enough for me
The recipe is a MaryBerry one- the official queen of baking- so you know it's going to be good. Recently, I've used this to create a lemon and raspberry bake and a batch of lemon and poppy seed drizzlecakes, but you could also chuck in other variations, such as blueberries or blackberries (especially when they come into season next month), or even just leave it as it is for a plain lemoncake
That and the fact it’s a MaryBerry recipe. This delicious cherry cake is moist and studded with french glacé cherries throughout the cake, and ground almonds and lemon zest for flavour and texture
This week's recipe is, of course, one of MaryBerry's. Apparently everyone was rating it Paul & Mary style, checking it for even distribution of cherries, consistent baking and icing consistency and they rated it really well so I'm pretty pleased with this week
It was MaryBerry after all and there was a good chance she would not lead me astray. My sister had suggested a lemondrizzlecake (because that's her favourite sort of cake) but I ended up finding something I liked better
