Jen made MaryBerry’s lemon yoghurt cake last year and enjoyed the taste and texture that the yoghurt gave to the cake, so that was the inspiration for this recipe, and I think her cakes look SO pretty as well as sounding wonderful with all those great ingredients
This is the original picture of this loaf from a book by MaryBerry. It's not too sweet like you'd think it would be, and if you call it a loaf not a cake, I'm sure a slice would be acceptable for breakfast
After the first episode, I wanted to try Mary’s Frosted Walnut Cake and so created a vegan, wholegrain, refined-sugar free version which turned out more delicious than I could have hoped for

While Grumps was sorting out the stroppy mare over here – Nanny did some sort of Mary Poppins/Nanny Mcphee/Nangry spell on the kids – For the first time in forever, the impossible happened – THEY TIDIED THEIR ROOM, no shouting, no swearing (me or them), no playing around, just tidying
I’m no more a fan of a soggy bottom than MaryBerry is so I prebake my puff pastry shell on a pizza baking tray which has aeration holes in it like the ones you can see below
I did find however that even with half the quantities, I had enough lemon curd left over to fill a jam jar (not that I am complaining - that's breakfast sorted for the next week) and an excess of meringue mixture
