I am not a crackers and cheese girl, despite my love of cheese. It came up much sooner than the past couple of years but I was rather thankful it fell on this week as biscuits take less time than most things and I had a second bake planned since it is the Hubby's birthday this weekend (post to come later this week)
Last night we welcomed back to our screens the GreatBritishBakeOff. The whole team have returned – Queen of baking Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood AKA the Silver Fox and the comedy duo Mel and Sue, who I personally think add a great bit of comedy to the proceedings
As any avid baker will agree, Wednesday nights mean only one thing - The GreatBritishBakeOff. If you cast your mind back to last series, you may remember finalist Richard Burr - the laidback builder-turned-baker who cooked up a storm with his trademark pencil behind his ear
You may remember that last week, I shared the recipe that Aldi have come up with for the ultimate crowdsourced cake, using the Aldi Specialbuys kitchen range and crafted by GreatBritishBakeOff finalist and cookery book writer Miranda Gore Browne
If they are not on the same shelf in the oven swap the cakes around at this point for an even bake. If you really have to go to a supermarket try some of the smaller chains, the quality of the products are exactly the same and you can shave pounds off the cost of putting your cake together
I adore snacking on these crackers because they are salty and crunchy which is such a great combo. They go great with the peanut butter and the salty cracker crumbs, so if you can add them in, do so

GreatBritishBakeOff is back. The theme was cakes and the contestants shared their signature Swiss roll recipes, tackled a classic Mary Berry cherry cake and baked mini versions of British classics
but please know her blog isn't vegan but still has plenty of great ideas. It is a British tradition when at the seaside to indulge in fried fish and chips
