Carnation Caramel. I've made chocolatefudgecake a fair few times now but for Hanna's birthday I wanted to try something a little different with it and decided to give it an extra caramel layer
CarnationChocolate Filling and Topping was next to the dulce leche caramel in the supermarket (I was initially looking for Banoffee ingredients - another excellent assembly sweet) and I have to say I was intrigued
) and needed another option and stumbled across Carnations website, admittedly my tin was not Carnation branded but they did have a promising sounding fudge recipe on their site, and I had nothing better to do and decided to make my first batch
I followed the recipe on the Carnation website for fudge and if I had subbed out the butter for something plant based, this would be an amazingly real tasting vegan fudge situation
In a saucepan place your condensed milk, vanilla, almond and chocolate. If you google cake batter, birthday cake or fudge your bound to come by hundreds of cake batter flavoured fudge recipes
The Carnation recipe gives a method for testing the temperature of the fudge using a glass of cold water, but I would strongly recommend getting hold of a sugar thermometer if you can
Now this came from looking at a recipe for peppermint cremes on the Carnation website. I've also made him oatcakes and little tiny chocolate covered cakes in previous years
)We were given these gorgeous spotty refridgerate bags to take home all our goodies in as well as another cloth bag with Nestle Carnation goodies inside
