It's a really versatile light fish dish great served cold as a starter or lunch dish or served warm with a simple side dish of boiled or mashed potatoes
My Fish on Friday post today is a little festive – I am starting to think of easy and yet spectacular ways to serve salads as part of the Christmas and New Year buffet table, as well as for light, tasty and exciting light meals
I noticed the kids that are with us ate a lot of the battered fish, I also gave it a try and surprisingly it’s not filled with batter and there was an actual fish on it, most of the restaurants tend to fill this with batter to make it bigger and fill you up faster
and are lovely served with cold meat, chicken or fish, and also as part of a buffet table. Refresh under cold water, drain, then place them on paper kitchen roll to absorb the excess water
We have a hot dessert on each day which compliments the cold desserts on the buffet. There is a hot buffet which contains hearty dishes like Thai Chicken Curry and Beef Chili which is served in a mocked up dinning room which on this occasion is an old Staff room in a deserted School which is the programmes location
it would also make a fabulous salad for the buffet table and vegetarians need not be alarmed, as you can ditch the chicken and add roasted peppers or other vegetables – aubergines and courgettes would be good too
The breakfast buffet was another travesty and by far the worst I have ever had. Slivers of cold meat & cheeses were left exposed to the elements and wilted in the morning sun and heat
Unfortunately they've already stopped serving the archipelago buffet for the summer and the noisy after sail crown upstairs didn't really do it for us either
