Welshfaggots are traditionally served with mashed potatoes and mushy peas, I served my vegan Welshfaggotswith sauteed winter green and another popular Welsh dish Onion Cake (Teisen winwns)
Here is my version of a vegetarian Cottage Pie made with the addition of Welsh leeks which give it a little sweetness and topped with seaweed - WelshLaverbread mash

Toad in the hole is a traditional British dish consisting of sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter – a meal that always goes down well when served withoniongravy and peas
Oniongravy cooked in the slow cooker is amazing, and the onions just melt in your mouth - forget the sausages, I would be happy with a bowl of gravy and mash
Served with rich buttery mashed potatoes and caramelised onion and sausage gravy. Glorious 95% Herby Gloucestershire Old Spot sausages, loved and out door naturally reared, preservative free and seasoned with fresh thyme, sage, chives and marjoram from the garden with a hint of salt and fresh ground white pepper. 1 large onion sliced. Meanwhile bring a large pan of water to a gently boil, peel the potatoes and halve, place in the boiling water and cook until fork tender approx 25-30 minutes, drain and return to the pan with 3tbsp of butter, mash and season with salt and pepper, leave on a very low heat to keep warm while you serve. To make the onion (poor mans gravy), pan fry the onions in a tbsp of butter and dash of oil for until caramelised, approx the same amount of time it takes to boil the potatoes, add 500ml of water and the thyme, bring up to a simmer, take the cornflour and mix with a tbsp of water, add to the simmering onions and stir until smooth, when you remove the sausages from the oven, add 50ml of water or wine to the roasting tin, scrape around and pour the cooking juices into the gravy, serve the mashed potatoes first and top with your gorgeous sausages and fabulous oniongravy. 1 large onion sliced
So I decided to make a nut roast of my own, an earthy chestnut roast with parsnips, porcinis and cheese, and served it with a wonderful shallot and cider gravy, cranberry jelly (see my recipe here) and simple roasted potatoes

I particularly like this oniongravywith this meatloaf as I add cranberry sauce to sit alongside the sweet caramelisation of the onionswith this piquant cranberry and then when eaten with the soft meatloaf there is this ending zing of chilli
1 Combine mince,chopped onion,garlic,herbs & breadcrumbs. 2 Season with salt & black pepper & mix thoroughly by hand. 6 Reheat oil over a low light,add sliced onions & cook. 8 Sprinkle flour over onion & stir until thoroughly. 10 Pour gravy over meat balls,bring to boil then reduce. 11 Cover pan with lid & continue to cook for 30 mins. 1 small onion finely chopped. 1 medium onion,thinly sliced
