But, I DO find that a meal plan helps me, I may veer away from my plan sometimes, and why not, I hate things to be written in stone all the time, but thevery fact that I sit down and plan what we will be eating based on what is in the pantry, freezer and store cupboard, does keep me on the straight and narrow for most of the week
Why its taken so long I am not sure as I love this dish so much whenever I have eaten it and on a whim I decided to invite family over and give it a go, after all January is a long dreary month after all the Christmas hype etc so I thought it would be good to squeeze everyone in our tiny lounge
I wasn't impressed with the beef and mushroom stroganoff so won't be making it again, or if I do, I'll need to make some changes to the Slimming World recipe
Despite being a frequent meal planner and advocate for it I had abstained lately from meal planning on the blog, partly because around Christmas time we were all over the place and I didn't want to entirely tell the world we were not at home and I was well, not planning verywell as life was keeping us busy with plans changing frequently
This week, after last weeks splurges owing to my ill head I making a more focused attack on the freezer - I was discussing the impending week ahead and needing to meal plan, in order to pretend to be organised with my boyfriend and he came up with some good suggestions but not using up any of fresh stuff
The closed cup mushrooms are for general cooking (we also go through a lot of them and there is another punnet in the fridge) while the chestnut ones are for a carabonara I'm making later in the week
I've done well filling the freezer this month with a few yellow sticker bargains and taking advantage of offers, though that with our Costco trip and a few meals out celebrating my new job (which I love
I bought some last week when my boyfriend came over and there are some left, and since I'm not seeing him much this week I think I will cheer myself up with burger and chips
on Saturday which I’m very excited about and randomly we discovered the lady. serving us in the shop was also from Belfast and her Auntie lives just up the
Not tummy rumblings - there has been plenty to eat - but mutinous rumblings from the troops who are not best pleased that their favourite cereal hasn't been replaced and they have been forced to munch their way through the copious other boxes on offer
It's very frustrating than making time to get to the gym (something that can be difficult for anyone with family demands) and getting my kit on, only to find I have nothing in the tank, as it were, when I get there
So I was really disappointed when I put on another half pound. But I was back on track with last week's meal plan, which if you remember was lifted directly from Slimming World magazine (with a few tweaks where I didn't like the suggested meals)
