Easy Homemade Pizza Dough Save Print Prep time 10 mins Cook time 8 mins Total time 18 mins This is the ONLY recipe you'll ever need for authentic, thin and crispy, Italian homemade pizza dough - Naturally vegan and dairy-free and just 5 ingredients needed! Author: The Petite Cook Recipe type: Pizza Cuisine: Italian Serves: 5 Ingredients 500 ml (1 pint) lukewarm water ½ tsp (1.5 gr) dry active yeast
1 heaped
tbsp sea salt 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil 900 gr (2 lbs) strong flour (aka bread flour) Instructions In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the water with active dry yeast and salt until dissolved. Pour the mixture into the mixer, add olive oil, and using your dough hook attachment, start mixing on a low speed, and slowly incorporate the sifted flour. Mix together all ingredients for about 5-6 minutes, until the dough is smooth and stops sticking to the sides of the bowl. If the dough is still too sticky sprinkle in a little more flour, if it's too dry add a little more water. Transfer the dough onto a clean surface sprinkled with flour and work with your hands until smooth and even. Transfer the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with cling film or a damp kitchen towel. Allow to rest in a warm place (about 24-27°C) for about 2-3 hours, until the dough has doubled in size. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide into 180-200gr pieces with the help of a dough scraper. Work each dough piece with your hands until forming a smooth and even ball, then transfer into a lightly oiled tray and cover with a kitchen towel. Allow the dough balls to rise for an extra 3-4 hours, then use within 6 hours 3.5.3251
Take thedough out of the machine and knead for a few minutes by hand on a floured surface. Take a bowl with warm water and add the yeast and sugar so it can feed the yeast
I often find the bottled ones a bit too acidic and artificial tasting, but making it at home with fresh tomatoes and high quality mayonnaise (at this point I should give a shout out to the exceptional Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise…seriously, it’s good
They also enjoy joining in with making thepizza – “helping” to knead thedough, spreading the tomato, sprinkling the cheese and choosing their own toppings
Mostly I bake pizza at home as home-made pizza is best to have, if you are consuming it frequently, so that you can have better control over the fatty and saturated ingredients like cheese and oil
Flushed from the success of making my own bread I decided to be daring and make my own pizzadough. This would also be the perfect recipe to make with kids, they would have great fun kneading thedough and flattening it out, not to mention choosing what toppings to put on afterwards
I have dough on the brain. Set the mixer on medium speed and let the mixer do it’s work. Danish dough, pizzadough, calzone dough, and dough for bread sticks
Thebest vegetarian pizza ever may be a tall claim, but I adore a good winter squash and this homemade crust with a flavoursome chocolate tomato sauce topped off with squash, walnuts and goat's cheese does it for me
This packaged convenience food tasted amazing to me and even after a few quite successful attempts at making homemadepizza I would still have preferred the frozen version
