Ingredients

  • 200 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 3 tbsp black treacle
  • 100 g butter
  • 75 g plain flour
  • 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinammon
  • 200 g soft brown sugar
  • 125 g oats
  • A good chunk (maybe 3 inches or so) fresh ginger, peeled & finely grated
  • Juice of half a lemon (although you may not need all of it)
  • 175 g icing sugar
