A La Jamie Oliver, I have gone for this perhaps more contemporary version with the flavours and spice of a BloodyMary and adapted it slightly to my taste, but you could adapt it to yours too
One of my favourites had a secret ingredient that the bartender later confessed to being Absolut Mandarin, a vodka infused with natural orange oils, which blend beautifully with the the spicy tomato base
I went for trio cheese cauliflower vanilla soup, truffle mousse and the trio of potato croquettes with sweet pea puree and tomato coulis, along with a hot and spicybloodymary on the side
We have finally eaten all the Christmas biscuits and the cake tin was looking rather bare, so I had a flip through one of my recipe clipping folders and came across Mary's teatime cake, a recipe from the very talented and delightful Mary Berry and published in BBC Good Food magazine
Nice and spicy Chicken Curry for when you're not in a hurry like Nigella Lawson. Adapted from a Gordon Ramsay's Spicy Beef Curry recipe from his book Healthy Appetite
I am delighted to give two lucky readers the opportunity each win a signed bookplate copy of Foolproof Cooking by Mary Berry courtesy of Ebury Publishing in this brilliant blog giveaway
This is clearly not a photo of my food tonight, I have resorted to using the one from the website. It was a lovely meal but my photo didn't look particularly appetising
I adore Mary Berry, the absolute Queen of Baking here in the UK. I just know that when I use a “Mary Berry Recipe” I will have fantastic results everytime
I'm not a huge fan of Mary Berry, and my views on the whole GBBO caravan have already been documented - I wouldn't know exactly what happened in recent episodes, because I'm not watching the latest series, but I'd just like to say that the suggestion of 'naughty editing' by the BBC to make more out of the Baked Alaska issue than was there, painting a darker picture of the actions of one of the contestants, only goes to convince me that I'm right, and this show is not really much better than Jeremy Kyle
Recipe Junkie and the Attack of the Custard Creams
Rich, vibrant, thick and creamy warming soup is perfect for these cold 'almost winter' like days. Homemade soup is really easy to make and the best thing is you can make up your own flavours combinations
However, there are certain people whose recipes never fail – I have half a dozen whose books I always buy but I hold my hands up and admit I do not own a Mary Berry one
