I forgot to bang the tray with themacarons before baking to get rid of any massive air bubbles, so they did pop a little but no matter, they still got devoured
With week one starting as cake week, I thought the title of Star Baker would be an absolute steal. And so there it is, the Great British BakeOff is back again for another summer in the tent of dreams
peanut butter, chocolate bakewell and a cheesecake tart were a few ofthe ideas I'd had. whack a big lump of pastry in the middle of a tart tin and squidge it around the corners until it resembles a tart
Anotherweek in the tent of dreams, and anotherbake that usually wouldn't phase me. My mistake was in chopping surplus pastry off before the blind bakerather than after, and it shrunk down the sides ofthe tin
I am thoroughly enjoying baking along with this series ofthe Great British BakeOff. So, it may seem like a bit of a cop out going for the 'easiest' ofthe recipes from theweek
But, excuses aside, if there was anything that was going to blow off my baking cobwebs, then no surprises it was going to be the return ofthe Great British BakeOff
This looked really tough, the sponge looked very tricky to get right, and getting the crème patisserie thick enough to support the top layer ofthe cake proved too tough for a couple ofthebakers
