So, when I defrosted my lovely piece of smokedhaddock today, I had plans to make a soufflé, I make some killer smokedhaddock soufflés, but, time ran away with me so I made this easy and VERY tasty smokedhaddock spread instead
Earthy spinach, smoky fish and the bright, silky egg yolk trickling down the lot. Once the fish has turned opaque three-quarters of the way up, flip it over and cook the other side
The smokedhaddock I used in this recipe was from a frozen pack but I prefer if possible to use undyed smokedhaddock if you can get it, any other white smoked would work too
Once cool take the fillets out and place in a bowl with the scallions, beaten egg and potato, mix together well but try not to break up the fish too much
This vegan 'Fish' Pie is packed with vegetables, smoked tofu, sea vegetables, spaghetti seaweed and sea flakes to give it that natural taste of the sea
The smokedHaddock with Dill and sweet pepper is perfect with the juicy Asparagus. Your eggs will take exactly four mins so you can get your fish and Asparagus ready
½ tsp smoked hot paprika. Fish Free Ocean Pie. Garnish the pie with a little chopped parsley. Add the garlic, hot smoked paprika, mushrooms and seaweed to the pan and cook on a low heat
Salt & Pepper (to taste). Nevertheless, a handful of recipe suggestions were eventually teased out of her and, on the Wednesday, I tried my hand at an adaptation of a 'Syn-Free' Slimming World recipe for a vegetarian/vegan paella, with a bit of fish added because we happened to have it in the freezer, otherwise unused
Tiger prawns, smokedhaddock, salmon and cod with cheesy mash. hard boiled eggs, roughly chopped. Fold in the prawns and remaining fish until the prawns are just starting to change colour (remember the pie will be cooked again so do not overcook at this stage)
Beat the egg and brush each pastry. Salt & Pepper to taste. These fishpies can be eaten warm or cold. When golden brown, add the fish and cook on a medium heat until soft
