I would love to say that this was a carefully planned out meal, but in reality it is something that I threw together in the slowcooker one morning before leaving for work
SlowCookerBeef & Barley Soup. Best Warming Latin-Inspired Soups & Stews. A slowcookerbeef chili stew is great when you want to ramp up the heat factor and still get a hearty meal
This was a great way of using up all the ketchup sachets that were cluttering up the fridge. I found this pack of SlowCookers BBQ Pulled Pork mix and decided to try it with beef
This cut of meat meant that I did not need to thicken the stew, however if you use a different cut of meat, just stir in a bit of cornflour/cornstarch near the end into a bowl with some of the stew liquid and whisk it in and then add the lump free mix into the slowcooker to thicken things up
The list of ingredients is relatively short, but don’t be fooled – some sort of weird alchemy transforms these items into something much greater than the sum of their parts
I love the trick of using cream of mushroom as the main thickener for this stew, by the way. This Spicy Chicken Stew literally has you just dumping all the ingredients into the KitchenAid SlowCooker’s ceramic dish, then you just set the timer and walk away
I simply adore chicken in the slowcooker as it just melts in your mouth, this dish is no different. Chuck everything in the slowcooker with no need to pre-cook anything, and you have a lovely healthy curry to go

Casserole beef with frozen vegetables ( I already have bags of veg in the fridge already which I have portioned to just the right size to add to a casserole)
I flipping love my slowcooker, and this beef curry recipe is the kind of thing that reminds me how easy it is to cook plenty of different meals for the family each week
