Looking for low sugar and lowcarb alternatives for foods isn’t the easiest thing to do, but if you play around with different ingredients, it’s surprising what you can make
In a large bowl beat the butter with the sweetener, then add the eggs and cottage cheese. 1 cup / 250 g cottage cheese. ⅓ cup/ 70 g lowcarb sweetener ( or 2 tbsp Stevia powder or more of your choice)
Have you ever tried baking with peanut flour. Flourless Strawberry, Almond & Amaretto Crumb. Peanut flour is made in the same way as almond flour, except Sukrin’s flours are fat-reduced by removing some of the oils, making it low fat, lowcarb, low sugar, high fibre, high protein and pretty much just perfect
The recipe is adapted from my strawberry cheesecake recipe that is just as nice. Sweet and tangy with fresh hints of citrus, this key lime tart will make you beg for more with every bite
A good old British mature cheddar is ideal. I made half of my crisp bakes with fancypants panko breadcrumbs, and half with plain old breadcrumbs that I bought in a tub, and to be entirely honest I didn’t notice much difference once they were cooked (my palate is obviously not refined enough) – so just use whatever you have on hand
More one pot meals– Mexican brown rice and quinoa skillet | Gnocchi in Indian curry sauce with spinach and cheese | Tomato beans rice | Spaghetti in rich tomato sauce
As we know, people with diabetes must be careful how much sugar they consume. They contain a lot of fiber which will allow for slower distribution of sugar in the blood
Back in the good old days when I used to eat cheesecake in the mistaken impression that it was lower GI than pure sugar, and therefore ‘better’ for you, I used to make Nigel Slater’s Creamy Cheesecakewith Damson Sauce
This is sandwiched between two eggs, which fall somewhere in between poached and fried, topped with a healthy portion of cheddar for extra texture and flavour
With no potato as their base they are great if you are on a low-carb diet. As I mentioned in my last blog post I have been incredibly busy with creating recipes…some of which are continuing to allude me to my level of perfection
Blend cream cheesewith erythritol until smooth. I have baked with erythritol again and made these chocolate cookies and they turned out successful with a deep flavor of cocoa
After the final layer of courgettes and then pour on the white sauce, before pouring on the cheese. I saw an idea for replacing lasagne sheets with sliced courgettes and decided to mash them altogether for a lowcarb, low calorie meal
