  • 4 as a light entree or 6 as a side
  • 6 slices thick cut bacon,
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small (2.5 pounds) red cabbage, thinly sliced (about 7 cups)
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • pinch of cayenne
