Ingredients

  • 175 g dates
  • 125 g ready to eat prunes
  • 75 g raisins
  • 75 g currants
  • 200 g butter
  • 200 ml water
  • 300 g condensed milk
  • 110 g plain flour
  • 110 g wholemeal flour
  • ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsbp chunky marmalade
  • 1 hour
  • 50 minutes Check half way, and if the cake is over browning, place a sheet of greaseproof paper on top
