Ingredients

  • 30 g (1oz) malted chocolate drink powder
  • 30 g (1oz) cocoa powder
  • 225 g (8oz) butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
  • 225 g (8oz) caster sugar
  • 225 g (8oz) self
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 eggs
  • FOR THE ICING
  • 3 tbsp malt
  • 1½ tbsp hot milk
  • 125 g (4
  • 250 g (9oz) icing sugar, plus extra for dusting
  • 50 g (2oz) dark chocolate (at least
  • 50 per cent cocoa solids), melted
  • 1 tbsp boiling water
