The only seedless raspberry conserve I could find in the shops was this one pictured below. This week it was French week in GBBO, Sue and Mel put on some funny French accents, and we saw lots of snails rather than the usual rabbits and squirrels at the Harptree Court location
Ryan Chong's Key Lime Pie (pictured above). This week on GBBO was pie week. The second challenge is what I would describe as the meanest challenge on GBBO so far - hand raised pies (see picture at top)
I decided to use rose and white chocolate to flavour the eclairs because they are light flavours to match the light pastry, and the raspberry was for a zingy twist
Kimberley's modern looking Passion Fruit & Lime Opera Cake (pictured top) looked great with tuilles and truffles as decorations, but was let down also on flavour
It was biscuit week on The Great British Bake Off last week. This week is Bread Week on The Great British Bake Off – it must be so scary for the contestants baking bread in front of such a bread master as Paul Hollywoood, I would be quaking in my boots – I am really looking forward to seeing what flavour combinations the contestants come up with – I really love making and especially eating bread so let’s hope I can make something good too
Jordan was the only baker doing a sweet bread, with his Strawberry & Raspberry Cheesecake Brioche. Most of the bakers stuck to fairly traditional flavour combinations such as Kate's Orange & Cardamom Rolls, Martha's Date & Walnut Rolls, and Jordan's Lemon & Poppyseed Rolls
We (my Mum & I) topped our russe with whole raspberries which we set with a raspberry glaze, but we thought that the raspberries looked prettier without
So, inspired by GBBO pastry week, I made my first foray into the world of eclairs. The post GBBO pastry week – Apple and blackberry eclairs appeared first on The Epsom Bakehouse
I've had them before and disliked said sticky substance, so I opted for a raspberry and lime mixture, bulked out with flaked almonds to thicken the mixture
I love raspberries and blueberries, so settled on a raspberry and blueberry cake with lime drizzle. Add a tablespoon of lime juice at a time, until the mixture is smooth
Kate's Rhubarb & Custard tart looked awesome, I loved that swirl on top. I haven't done hot water crust yet so I decided to try it for this week'sGBBO challenge
Tamal made an American themed chocolate tart with raspberry coulis and a pecan praline. I'm entering this into the Bake Off Bake Along hosted by Rhyme & Ribbons and This Particular
The first task is to make the raspberry jam. However as someone who suffers from an illness that causes pain & fatigue, all the piping work was too much for me
This step is absolutely crucial and in fact Ruby Tandoh (a previous year’s GBBO finalist) makes little circles of greaseproof to put in the bun tray before the mixture goes in – I’m sure it works but it’s way too fiddly & time-consuming in my opinion
I'm entering this into the Bake Off Bake Along hosted by Rhyme & Ribbons and This Particular. Paul went for mango, lime and coconut ice cream with a pineapple jam
Tamal made passionfruit & mango, and pistachio & raspberry eclairs for his tower. She chose coconut & vanilla, and lime and basil for her flavours, but the judges couldn't taste any of her flavours
