I am not sure how old the recipe is, but I suspect that it's been around a very long time. I have had the mother of all colds and it was so bad that I ended up in bed
I make it for more practical reasons, it's usually because a bread recipe hasn't worked out to my satisfaction or I suddenly find that fruit loaf I really meant to eat last week
I also have a FABULOUS Chocolate Paradise Bread and Butter Pudding recipe that makes good use of black bananas, if you fancy something on the pudding side
We like ours warm with a cold quenelle of creme fraiche sitting atop. At the end of that time, remove the tea bag and strain the apricots, discarding any liquid

A classic belly warming pudding that’s delicious on a cold winter’s evening. You can actually use already stale bread so don’t chuck it away – bung it into this yummy pudding
I had mine last night with the breadpudding still warm but today I had it with both the breadpudding and lemon curd cold out of the fridge and it was way better today than last night
I've never made bread and butter pudding before so I was very excited to try this out. Butter the bread, cut the crusts off and arrange a layer at the bottom of the prepared baking dish
