The week before our holiday in Suffolk, I was in North Yorkshire stayingwithmyparents where mumand I did a bit of baking together, as you may remember from her pie recipe here
I could have gone to my more local one but as its a little on the small side I decided to treatmyself & go a bit further so I could takea look at their home range etc
Whenever I go over to Lincolnshire to see myparents, I like to take them one those ‘afternoontea’ type cakesand this is the recipe for last week’s offering
LastSunday I posted some pictures of myMum'spasties she'd sent me home withearlierthatday. Ratherthan just snappinga quick picture withmy phone, I decided to takea bit more time withmycamera
A good outer crust, soft withinand just the right side of crumbly, these aremy perfect scone. Whilst mymum isn’t amassivebaker, there are some things she does really, really well
green tomatoeswashed & quartered. Cover withwaxed disc & sealimmeadiately. Mum's Green Tomato Chutney - Agreatway of using anytomatoesthat do not ripen at the end of the summer
Addall the veg and the last tin of soup alongwitha generous seasoning of saltandblack pepper. Usually cooked midweek and then dipped into on regularoccassion for a quick winter lunch or aheartywarming supper - it improves aftera few days in the fridge
well, I do know this - but last week and over the weekend - it still seemed weeks and weeks away - now suddenly today I feel that it's really close and I am not atallready
Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuhu. Now that the daysare getting colder and the nights longer, bakeabatch of this crumble, and serve with hot custard for a comforting treat
