Since my dish was a little too small, I ended up making twomoussakas - one went into the oven to bake off, and the other cooled and into the freezer for another day - I'll let you know how that turned out
A classic and comforting dish, full of flavour with flexible options to suit everybody. You can make and assemble this a day or two in advance if you like, as it tastes even better the next day, sets nicely and is easier to cut once it's chilled - it will just need longer to cook from chilled
I usually let the different elements of the dish cool down a little bit before I assemble the moussaka, just because it makes them easier to handle without the risk of scorched fingers
Lighter than lasagne (good for the ‘no carbs’ brigade) and seasoned with fragrant cinnamon and oregano, it makes me feel like a booking a holiday on the Greek islands right now
I’ve surprisingly grown a really sweet tooth which is rare for me considering I’m not usually a huge chocolate fan , I found this recipe online a while ago and now I think I’ve perfected it
Ingredients for Lamb Sauce for the Moussaka. This Easter we had some nice slow roasted lamb legs, but as usual, there was too much meat for us to eat all at once
Just in case there wasn't enough chocolate already for you, the whole shebang is finished off with a couple of crumbled flake chocolate sprinkled on top to make this a proper triple chocolate treat
Fry for a minute or twobefore adding the milk, tomatoes, oregano and pesto. Season, bring to the boil and simmer for about 1 hour or until the flavours have combined and are well developed. Toss in a little oil, season, then pop into the oven for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Sprinkle over the remaining Parmesan, then the paprika and bake for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbling and the topping has set
Optional – spread a layer of Nutella on your brownies for extra gooeyness. These two ingredient Nutella Brownies are easy to make, cost pence and are gluten free
For the pizza dough. semolina, for dusting (optional). I topped it with crumbled feta cheese and it was gorgeous, I had a bit left over which I had cold for lunch and it was just as nice
It went down a storm with my friends and family so when it came to thinking of my third tray bake tale it made sense to transform it into my next terrific all in one treat
White fish is a great option for a low calorie meal – and cooking it in foil with just a tiny bit of oil and some lemon means that you don’t add calories through the cooking method
For me I don’t care where it came, we were just lucky this was invented as it is very delicious. Repeat the process two more times, there is no more feta on last layer
