I decided to make him a Malteser and Chocolate Finger decorated cake using a chocolate sponge which I added cola too making a light sponge, which I then covered in a cream cheese and chocolate spread frosting which I decided would be less sickly and rich than a regular chocolate buttercream

So happy, that I decided it was time that I essentially make a "deconstructed" malteser, with white and dark chocolatecake alternating to form a checkerboard, generously covered in a malt frosting, which is just heavenly, I could eat a whole bowl, it's like bedtime, in buttercream form
Then sprinkle over the top of the melted milk chocolate your chopped Maltesers. Spread a layer of melted milk chocolate over the surface of the chilled fridge cake and smooth out

Can you believe this is the first chocolate fudge cake I've ever made. The sponge was lovely and moist, with just the right amount of chocolate flavour to balance out the intense chocolate sweetness of the decadent frosting
Rich, chocolatey, delicious, you’d be hard pushed to tell that it’s a ‘diet’ dessert, which is why I concocted it as a substitute for my birthday cake this year
