2 diet
has given me a much needed focus on my diet after the excesses of Christmas and I do enjoy having a structure to my eating that drives me towards my goal.
I love fish, and often reach for a nice piece of fish for my main meal, especially when “fasting” on my low-calorie day, but, a change is as good as a rest as they say, and chicken breasts (skinned) are a dieter’s friend
The soup has been all the more enjoyable as it isthe season for tomatoes, and many a kilo of home-grown tomatoes have found themselves in my weekly batch of this tasty soup
My Monday Meal Plan this week has slid to a Tuesday – as you know if you have been reading and following my blog over the last few days, I have been SO busy with a houseful of guests, cleaning, cooking, gardening, packing (I am off on my travels tomorrow) and that left me only a few hours, or should I say and hour, in evening to write my blog, do round-ups (the Herbs on Saturday round-upis following on later today) and all theother stuff I love doing here
if you are vegetarian and you fancy adding the sausage, I have added a cooked Quorn sausage to this recipe, as well as a very meaty (low-fat) smoked sausage too
The portion size is quite generous, but I chose not to make rice for my own supper, instead wilting some spinach and mixing them with some softened onion, cumin and coriander
An authentic "Fake Away" Prawn Curry "Take Away", but this curry is notched up an extra level as it is made with Tiger Prawns and a delicious home-made curry sauce paste
I’d always thought of fasting as something unpleasant, with no obvious long-term benefits. Scientists are uncovering evidence that short periods of fasting, if properly controlled, could achieve a number of health benefits, as well as potentially helping the overweight, as Michael Mosley discovered
One easy way to cut back on the calories as well as the cream, cheese, mincemeat, roast potatoes, stuffing and all theother high calorie ingredients is to cook and serve fresh fish
Easy Smoked Haddock au Gratin . The Marmalade has been made, for my grand entry into the World’s Original Marmalade Awards, British Farmhouse Breakfast Week is over and January is about to slither out in either an avalanche of snow or a deluge of flooding, and, it isanother Meal Planning Monday post – WHERE did last week go
(The recipe plug in is not working, so I have had to type it out manually for now, as a temporary measure – you can still print it by right clicking, copying and pasting but please give me credit if using the recipe - Thanks
the book is packed with idyllic “long French lunches”, pâté terrine, idle artisans, the “Mistral”, unwelcome London acquaintances and local idiosyncratic customs - along with a generous helping of boules, pastis and a smattering of lavender
For a festive look, scatter pomegranate seeds over thefish for a jewel-likefinish. That’s all for today, I have a busy weekend ahead – with EIGHT guests arriving tomorrow……and I also have to post my Best of Britishround-up and choose a winner…
And John’s fish always arrives beautifully filleted so that all I have to do is open one of the individual portions to create my very own diet ready-meal
I am in Ireland and do not have access to the same e-tools those in the UK and else where have, so these values have been calculated using the food guides given in classes and the shopping guide
Next on my fun-filled agenda was Food Blogger Connect, where I was representing FishistheDish, and, where I met lots of lovely food bloggers, and twitter friends……
I will leave you with a fabulous image of one of the vessels that catches the haddock, and all of theotherfish I use in my recipes, Budding Rose, and I hope that you try this aromatic and tasty low-calorie recipe, I am pretty pleased with how it turned out
Thisisanother recipe from the 'Hairy Dieters, Eat for Life', cook book. I didn't get a chance to try these fajitas as I made them for the children before going out for dinner
The diet is based on intermittent fasting which not only helps you lose weight but also allows you to enjoy a wide range of health benefits such as improvements in your blood pressure, cholesterol levels and insulin sensitivity
We all know that we need to be reducing the amount of sugar our children are eating but when faced when a strong willed picky eater, how exactly do we go about doing that
