Some may think this cake is perfect for Summer, but if you ask me it’s great all through the year, I’m sure no one would complain if you turned up with this gorgeous bake as a gift
But when I saw this recipe in Paul Hollywood's How to Bake, I wanted to give it a try. I remember as a child my mum having a baking day and making a delicious lemondrizzlecake
It a carrot and lemondrizzlecake and it tasted bloody amazing. Do you like a lemondrizzle. I am very vocal about how I love lemoncake and when ever anyone posts a recipe I always think I should make my own too so here it is the best lemoncake I have ever made

Once baked remove from the oven and whilst the cake is still warm prick all over using a skewer, then spoon on the lemon icing making sure the cake is evenly covered
Put the lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Whilst cake is warm, drizzle the syrup over so that it soaks into the cake
I chose to make the lemondrizzlecake as it is one of my favourites and it seems simple to make. I then also made some running icing to drizzle across the top, and decorated with little lemon jellies
Nigel Slater's Demerara LemonCakeAs I have previously mentioned, I am not much of a baker. This is probably one of the easiest of cakes I have ever baked, so long as I remember that baking is a science and not a case of wetting my finger, putting it in the air, seeing which way the wind is blowing and hoping for the best
