Ingredients

  • 15 medium buns
  • 3 cups flour (420g I needed a bit more)
  • 95 g of sugar (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • /4 tsp ground cloves
  • 125 ml molasses
  • 1/2 cup
  • 125 g butter
  • 1/2 cup
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1/2 cup
  • 1 free range egg
  • 4 times to
  • 3 tins of haricot beans, drained and rinsed (300g each, 12 ounces each)
  • 1 tin of chopped tomatoes in tomato juice, undrained (400g, 14 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 2 TBS of dark soft brown sugar
  • 2 TBS molasses
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 TBS cider vinegar
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • splash of hot sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 package of frankfurters, sliced
  • Preheat the oven to 180*C/350*F/ gas mark
