Ingredients

  • 20 g fresh ginger, chopped
  • 7 large cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 750 g chicken pieces, skinned
  • 2 medium large tomatoes, pureed (I used tomato concentrate)
  • 12 curry leaves
  • 150-200 ml coconut milk (I used 250 ml)
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons white poppy seed
  • 1 heaped tablespoon coriander seeds or ground coriander
  • 1 1/2 cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 1-2 minutes Add the chicken and lightly brown for
