These delicious bars got a LOT of attention on Twitter and Facebook when I posted the pic last week so I thought I’d share the simple recipe with you. Beware, they are SUPER BAD for you!
Ingredients List
1 tin
condensed milk
200 g
desiccated coconut
350 g
icing sugar
2 x
200g bars of milk or dark chocolate or a mix of both
Not that it made much of a difference but I did use a light condensed milk to try save a few calories – this is the one I used but the standard one will work just the same.
This recipe is also perfect for people with a fussy eater in the family as they’re perfectly normal looking chicken nuggets, although as D said they taste all the better for not being made from mechanically recovered chicken
HomeMade Multigrain Bread. For me, you really can’t beat a homemade loaf – you can choose what to put in it, you can avoid any unwanted added extras often found in mass produced bread and as an added bonus, it’s much cheaper to make your own
I made mine on Easter Sunday – does that still count. I have never made hot cross buns before so as I had Easter Sunday to myself I decided to whip up a quick batch
We will start with my tasty homemade beef burgers. Another long break has come to an end and hopefully I have enough inspiration to update my recipe bank with not just food for adults but also start post recipes/tips and ideas regarding toddlers now that we have an 1 year all eating toddler who has luckily got his mums great appetite for food
I made 6 deep fishcakes. Friday's always makes me think its 'fish for supper day', I think that's down to the upbringing, but its also Frugal Food Friday, and lets be honest with the price of food who doesn't need to watch the cost of meals
Homemade Irish Cream. Once made store in a refrigerator. Irish cream is a great Christmas drink, and batched into sterilised bottles make a great give away (if you can let it go, that is)
So yesterday I shared with you the recipe for homemade pulled pork and today I thought that I would share the recipe for the BBQ sauce that accompanied it
Made from the bounty of her home grown tomatoes and locally bought scotch bonnet chilli's, Emma admits to being very much a preserving addict once autumn hits
The cupcake on the right is home-made, the one on the left is from a packet mix. It's the same when you buy cheap white mass-produced bread - it sticks to the roof of your mouth, while artisan or home-baked bread doesn't
And I got the Homemade cookie stamp from Hobbycraft (but you can get it online). I piped the chocolate icing in the middle – it just made it easier to make it neat
While you wait add the thick gravy like liquid remainder of the marinade to your favourite BBQ sauce, or check tomorrow's blog post for my homemade BBQ sauce recipe
