Ingredients

  • 250 g softened unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 200 g soft dark brown sugar
  • 100 g good-quality dark chocolate, melted
  • 2 large free-range eggs
  • 200 ml Guinness
  • 275 g self
  • 30 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 225 g dark chocolate and
  • 125 ml double cream
  • 284 ml carton double cream, 1 tbsp whisky and
  • 1 tsp icing sugar
