Ingredients

  • 275 g (10oz or 2 cups) quality self raising flour
  • 275 g (10oz or 1 1/4 cups) caster sugar
  • 275 g (10oz or 1 1/4 cups) stork margarine (I used unsalted butter)
  • 50 g (2oz or 1/2 cup) good quality cocoa power (optional)
  • 5 free range eggs
  • 30 ml (1fl oz or 2 tbsp) whole milk
  • 15 ml (1/2fl oz or 1 tbsp) vanilla extract
  • 250 g icing sugar, sifted
  • 80 g unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 25 ml whole milk
  • a couple of drops of vanilla extract
