Top with a whole raspberry and your ready to serve. ingredients for the cakes. I had a little extra chocolate so I actually covered a few buns completely and smoothed the chocolate out with a palette knife then added the raspberry
There's no fat in the 'sponge' at all except the small amount in the eggs and nuts which is great for dieters, you could always substitute the cream for thick Greek Yoghurt or Ricotta to make it even lighter
For the topping you don’t need to use my orange zest and raspberry combination though I have to say with the cream topping and filling to boot it’s a real winner
If you have some mix left over after this, pipe small meringe shapes, as you would icing on top of a cupcake - you can use these to decorate or to simply eat when they come out of the oven instead of having to wait for your masterpiece
Top with a fresh (washed) strawberry and serve. For left over Chocolate cake domes, you can pair it up with either fresh berries or even Cherry Pie filling and whipped cream, Black Forest in a cup
Assemble the cake by spreading the first layer with a good helping of raspberry jam. Whilst most of the food in Japan is absolutely delicious, in my opinion cakes and desserts are not their strong point and most sweet goods involve red bean paste
Fresh mint leaves. I don't think that will make a great deal of difference (there was a lot of cream in lovely Rachel's version) and it does bring the point / calorie / fat count down a bit
