Ingredients

  • 5 of us at the meal and we ate the whole thing.
  • /3.5 oz caster sugar, plus extra for covering
  • 6 egg whites
  • 350 g/12oz caster sugar
  • 2 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 350 g/12oz caster sugar
  • Juice of 4 lemons 225g/8oz butter
  • 450 ml/0.75pints double cream
