Ingredients

  • 175 g double cream
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 225 g soft dark brown sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod, seeds scraped out
  • 75 g plain chocolate
  • 100 g butter, unsalted
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 175 g plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • A few tbsp boiling water, enough to get a thick paste
  • 200 g icing sugar, sifted
  • Crushed amaretti biscuits and icing sugar
