If you’ve never even had the pleasure of a Chinese chicken curry from your local takeaway, then the sauce should be rich with subtle Oriental flavours, slightly thickened with a mild heat throughout, usually served with peas and onion (both optional here)
Into the pot of water add the vegetable cube, the turmeric, sesame oil, and either the white pepper or Chinese 5 Spice powder and bring to the boil, then leave at a simmer. 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 Spice or 1/2 tsp white pepper
5 tbs of curry powder (I used hot or medium, depending on how hot you like it). 11/4 tsp of Chinese five spice. 1Add the curry powder, Chinese five spice, tomato paste and soy sauce and stir to coat
