You can do this with baking parchment or if you’re sensible you’ll pick up some loaf tin liners like I do – normally from Lakeland but I am sure they sell them in other places too
My bananas were more bruised than ripe, which means that they won't have added such a sweet flavour to the cake (usually it's the riper the better when it comes to cooking withbananas), but hopefully their taste and moisture will still add to the cake
Large loaf tin, greased and lined with a little butter. *Thats Dungeons and Dragons to you non-players* We play with a group of friends wanting to be hero's for the evening
I wanted to try something a little bit different and I had never tried to make a loafcake so I found a recipe online and adapted it to suit what I had in, I was so happy with it
This recipe is based upon a Mary Berry Banana and Chocolate Chip Loaf. I scribbled down some olive oil based recipes, researched how to cut down on the egg content and figured a smaller loaf shaped cake would save on the costs of ingredients
This one came out really well and I was pleased with it. Of course, as is normal, there were also some sad looking bananas in the fruit bowl (doesn’t everyone have a fruit bowl of depressed bananas
but I when you make up the cake batter its rather caramel like and if Dan Lepard can call his amazing muffins 'Chocolate custard muffins' without being chocolate custard then I decided I can too be loose with the terminology
This is a cake I used to make regularly before I became obsessed with all things bundt. I hate bananas, yet some weird cake alchemy makes this cake utterly irresistible
Dense & rich Double ChocolateLoafCakewith a hit of fresh zesty orange. I’ll be serving this later with a huge dollop of vanilla ice-cream – I suspect the other Costellos will be getting the custard out
Strawberry LoafCakewith White Chocolate Drizzle. It is so easy to make in a loaf tin and even easier to slice and eat, plus there is no tricky decorating needed so the kids will love getting stuck in making this with you too
(Tesco's call this bread and not cake, to me its more of a cake hence why they use a loaf tin). I am so pleased with myself, I can say this cake is easily one of the best cakes I've ever tasted
An acute chocolate lake of a loaf oozing with moisture and hiding underground pockets of dark chocolate lava only hinted at by the rugged hunks of chocolate scattered on top
I've tweaked this recipe with a little added milk chocolate to compliment the orange. A straightforward, quick recipe and a great way to use up bananas that look more black than yellow
