I don’t want to spend six hours of my life fighting with icing nozzles and decorations. It’s quite a versatile cake and in the past I have added other ingredients such as mini pieces of fudge or chopped walnuts – but the standard banana and chocolate variety is the most popular
I've made a banana loaf cake for as long as I can remember flavouring it with orange zest, cinnamon & ginger - a sort of Jamaican theme - but it wasn't until Nigel Slater decided to add chocolate chips to his version that it really became a hit in our house
I am so pleased with myself, I can say this cake is easily one of the best cakes I've ever tasted. If you are going to have a go at this recipe don't forget to comment below with your links
I've tweaked this recipe with a little added milk chocolate to compliment the orange. A straightforward, quick recipe and a great way to use up bananas that look more black than yellow
Cake is always good when you add banana, but when you add matcha and crunchy brazil nuts, you can reduce the sugar and sprinkle on the chocolate chips for a really soft, fluffy and utterly delicious cake to enjoy with your mid-morning tea
Happily for me Tapioca flour is naturally gluten free so is a great flour to be baking with here, fairly easily obtainable mail order or in your local health food shop
Grease a baking tin and add the bowls with the cake batter mixture one by one. I finally managed to squeeze in another recipe between nappies and feeds and so glad I'm now sharing it with you because it's a good one
This gorgeous Banana Bread Bundt CakewithChocolate Glaze makes no exception and naturally contained free range eggs, all date stamped with the Lion quality mark on them
This bananacake can be put together in minutes and only needs a few common household ingredients. For more delicious banana recipes, make yourself a nice cuppa and head over to the sweet recipes section
My bananas were more bruised than ripe, which means that they won't have added such a sweet flavour to the cake (usually it's the riper the better when it comes to cooking withbananas), but hopefully their taste and moisture will still add to the cake
This last entry from me is a very easy-to-make banana sponge, featuring delightful chunks of chewy, crystallised ginger and dark chocolate chips, lavishly topped with a gorgeously decadent chocolate buttercream
I was going to make a bananacakewithchocolate chips sandwiched together with peanut butter icing. Sponsored by Stork, the idea is to have some fun baking a cake and then sharing it with others - whether that's in actuality or sharing a picture
