Full of autumnal flavours this is perfect as the weather turns colder, I’ve bought the flavours and textures of a classic applecrumble and mixed them with an utterly amazing cheesecake…and boy does it work
My healthy banana and oatmeal cookies are still a work in progress (watch this space) but I created this incredibly simple, healthy applecrumble recipe today as a follow up for Sunday lunch with the family
You may be thinking that the world doesn’t need another applecrumble recipe but here’s where I share one that’s a tad different and super yummy – this fruit crumble will knock your socks off whilst still keeping its firm place with being one of the ultimate comfort food desserts
AppleCrumble Flapjacks. Ladies and gentlemen, winning by a mile in the final count was. Adding all the votes from the polls, comments, emails, twitter AND Facebook (god, so many social medias) meant that these tasty little buggers won with 32% of the vote
The middle apple layer. Crumble topping. Set aside whilst you prepare your apples The cake base. I allow 1 apple for two muffins - so for a twelve muffin tin I used 6 apples
Some of my earliest memories of a Friday night dinner would be the applecrumble. I always recommend using Bramley Apples as they are the ideal flavour and consistency for stewing, other apples don’t break down

Why toffee applecrumble of course. What could be better than toffee apples at this time of year. The dates act like little toffee pieces in the gorgeous filling, and then the whole thing is topped with a warm, ultra-crunchy crumble topping – the trick is baking the topping separately before sprinkling it over the fruit
