Ready In 20 mins Author: Audrey @ Unconventional Baker Makes: 3-4 cups Ingredients 1½ qt water ½ a lemon, sliced or rough chopped (or more to taste), rind included 1" ginger root, rough chopped (or more to taste) big dash of turmeric big dash cinnamon 2 tbsp maple syrup (more or less to taste) Instructions Fill a 2 quart pot about ¾ full with water. Add in all other ingredients and bring to a boil on the stove. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes Then remove from heat and allow the drink to cool off. Strain into a glass jar. Chill overnight in the fridge for an iced tea (or enjoy hot straight away)! Notes If you're planning on making a larger batch of this, just note that after a day or so in the fridge you'll need to shake it and then strain it through a sieve into your glass to avoid getting any residue in your cup. 3.5.3208

And of course, lemon and ginger are a match made in heaven, so the icing was a must - and who cares that my attempts at artful drizzling were less than beautiful

For G night's pudding, I made a gold glittered green tea and chocolate ganache gateau with ginger ice cream topped with a ginger biscuit and I thought I'd share the recipe with you here
We made a lemon cake using a recipe from the telegraph website - although we cooked it in a normal cake tin rather than a loaf tin - and made a tea-flavoured buttercream using tea we'd infused for a good hour

To make the drizzle sieve the icing sugar into a bowl and grate in the zest of one lemon. It is a rich dark coloured cake full of warming spices and packed full of healing ginger to give the immune system a good old boost this January
